Jajpur: Sushant Barik, a youth of Madhusudanpur under Binjharpur police station limits was in for a shock on Tuesday when the police informed him that a distant relative has come to meet him.
When Sushant went to the police station, he realised that the woman he had married some five years ago in a temple in Uttar Pradesh, has come in search of him. He could neither feign ignorance of the woman nor their four-year-old child as the woman had already filed a police complaint against him.
According to police sources, Sushant was working in a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh where he fell in love with a widow and got married to her at a temple. The two also have a four-year-old son. Sushant, for some strange reason, has come back to his Madhusudanpur village in Odisha, without informing her.
The deserted woman, however, managed to get information about Sushant’s whereabouts and reached Binjharpur in the district and complained to police seeking justice.
Complainant Suman Singh told newsmen that Sushant married her despite knowing that she was a widow. He also left her without informing her and their child, she added.
Police have started investigation on receipt of complaint from the woman seeking justice.
