Lucknow: A chilling confession video of Mohammad Arshad, accused of killing his mother and four sisters, who bodies were recovered inside a hotel room in Lucknow on Wednesday morning, has gone viral on social media platforms.
The deceased have been identified as Aliya (9), Alishiya (19), Aksa (16), Raheeman (18)and their mother Asma.
In the video shot at around 2 am, the 24-year-old, who has been arrested by police, claimed that he took the extreme step as his family was harassed by his neighbours in their ‘basti’ and they had taken over their house, leaving them on street. He further alleged that they were conspiring to send him and his father to jail by framing them in false cases and sell his sisters in Hyderabad.
He said he committed the killings with the help of his father because he did not want his sisters to be sold. “We did not want this to happen which is why we were forced to kill them by choking them and slitting their wrists,” he said.
Arshad also mentioned about spending 10 nights on footpath and that the family wanted to convert to Hinduism. He also named the harassers and appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for justice.

The family, originally from Agra, were putting up at at hotel Sharanjeet situated in Naka area of the city in Lucknow. While Arshad has been taken into custody from the crime scene, his father is missing.

Police said that said Arshad confessed to murdering his four sisters and mother during preliminary interrogation. “He claimed the family was being harassed by neighbours, and he feared for their safety if something happened to him. Driven by this fear, he decided to kill them,” DCP Central Zone, Raveena Tyagi was quoted as saying by media reports.
Arshad further said that he dropped his father at the railway station. While murder weapons, including a blade and a scarf, have been recovered, CCTV footage from the railway station is being examined to identify and apprehend his father.
