Bhubaneswar: Upasana Mohapatra is among the nine from Odisha who have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted civil services examination, the results of which was declared on Friday.
She ranked 119th in the prestigious exam.
Upasana did her schooling from Loyola School, Bhubaneswar, and passed Class X with 96 per cent. She came second in her school in the ICSE exam. She completed her +2 from DAV School, Unit 8. She then went on to join Miranda House, University of Delhi, where she graduated in Physics as one of the toppers of her college scoring 91.3 per cent.
The other rank holders from Odisha are Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra (118th), Jubin Mohapatra (235th), Nabal Kumar Jain (350th), Sourav Mishra (357th), Prashant Mishra (367th), Somalin Subhadarsini (478th), Sudhanshu Nayak (500th) and Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak (759th).
While the final examinations were conducted in September-October 2018, the interviews were held in March-April this year. A total of 759 candidates (577 men and 182 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services like IAS, IPS, IFS etc.
