New Delhi: The third Maruti Suzuki car to be rebadged by Toyota is already in the works. Spy photographs of the same have surfaced.
The new car, reported to be named Toyota Belta, is a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. It is expected to be launched in October.
Like other rebadges, the car will look quite similar to its Maruti counterpart with slight changes such as chrome bits and grille.
It will use the same engines and gearboxes as the Ciaz, that is, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol that produces 103 BHP power and comes with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox.
This is the third Toyota rebadge. The first was Glanza (Baleno), followed by Urban Cruiser (Vitara Brezza). Belta is expected to replace Toyota’s Yaris sedan.
