Sambalpur: An elderly couple allegedly committed suicide after being upset with the fight between their son and daughter-in-law in Burla of Sambalpur district.
The incident took place at Jharamunda village under Burla police limits. The couple Tankadhar Mahakud and wife Brundabati had reportedly consumed poison and left the house.
The two were found dead in an agricultural field by some locals, who rushed them to VSS Medical College in Burla where Tankadhar Mahakud died last night while Brundabati succumbed on Thursday afternoon.
Police registered a case and started investigation into the case. It may be mentioned that the couple’s elder son also committed suicide a few months back.
