Bhubaneswar: “Sales are down around 40 per cent,” said a Maruti salesperson here who didn’t wish to be identified. The automobile sector has been hit hard by the economic slowdown and carmakers are trying to offload their inventory with deep discounts and benefits to lure buyers.
Here are the top deals at NEXA:
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
BS4 models of Maruti’s popular premium hatchback are being offered with benefits up to Rs 65,000. The Baleno RS variant, which has a BS4-compliant 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, has a discount of Rs 85,000. All variants of the Baleno now come with a 5-year extended warranty, including the new BS6 mild-hybrid ones.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
Suzuki’s crossover is coming with a massive discount of Rs 1.3 lakh on some variants. The S-Cross comes with a diesel engine and manual gearbox only. Maruti is expected to bring a petrol variant of the S-Cross. The BS6-compliant 1.5-litre (K15B) engine from the Eritga and Ciaz will be used. The current S-Cross diesel will be stopped from April 1, 2020.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
Maruti’s Honda City competitor is now available with a discount of up to Rs 95,000 on the older 1.3-diesel variant and up to Rs 65,000 on the new 1.5-diesel with mild-hybrid tech variants. The petrol with Smart Hybrid tech has a discount of Rs 50,000. Like the Baleno, Maruti has added 5-year extended warranty on all Ciaz variants.
