Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced that Odisha government will set up an Urban Community Health Centre (CHC) in the old District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bargarh town.
The proposed CHC having 30 beds will provide emergency healthcare and outpatient treatment.
Besides, the Chief Minister also directed free ambulance and bus services for patients and attendants to the new District Headquarters Hospital at Turkurla, which is 10 km away from Bargarh town.
The announcement of the Chief Minister came after a meeting with BJP leader and Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari in the afternoon.
Earlier in the day, a team of BJD leaders Susanta Singh, Prasanna Acharya, Debesh Acharya and former minister Bimbadhar Kumar met the Chief Minister at the Lok Seva Bhawan and had a discussion on this matter.
Notably, the people of Bargarh town had staged a demonstration on January 31 demanding a city hospital in the old District Headquarters Hospital.
