Mumbai: Urvashi Rautela has bagged a big assignment. She will be playing the role of Parveen Babi in a biopic of the popular actress of the 1970s and 80s.
Urvashi took to Instagram to announced her new project.
“Bollywood Failed #ParveenBabi but I will make you proud #PB ~ UR. Om Namah Shivaya. Trust the magic of new beginnings,” Urvashi wrote.
The biopic will be directed by Wasim S Khan, with the script written by Dhiraj Mishra.
Parveen, who starred in megahit movies like ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Deewaar’, ‘Namak Halaal’, ‘Shaan’, ‘Kaalia’, and ‘Suhaag’, was found dead at her residence in Mumbai at the age of 50. She was suffering from multiple ailments.
Urvashi, who attended the Cannes film festival last month, has worked in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films.
