Bhubaneswar: A US-based organisation has donated Rs 48.89 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help Odisha fight the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Additional Chief Secretary Sanjeev Chopra informed.
The organisation, ‘Our Biswas’ is managed by an Odia, Joyasree Mahanti. “Odisha has set an example by controlling the pandemic through the timely decisions and appropriate action,” she said.
The organisation provides economic support to women and girls living in abject poverty around the world. It has also been working for the empowerment of women in different parts of Odisha since 2008, an official press release said.
