New Delhi: Over three dozen candidates who appeared in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2024 have had to pay for using unfair means (UFM) during the Session 2 entrance test held last month.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) informed through a notification that strict action, including debarment for three years, has been initiated against 39 candidates for resorting to UFM.
The NTA release also mentioned that any candidate with more than one application number or more than one scorecard will be treated as UFM, even if found at a later stage, and strict action will be taken against that candidate.
A candidate can’t get two scorecards on different application numbers for the same examination in a year. For candidates who appeared more than once with different application numbers, NTA has declared his/her best scores in the scorecard.
NTA earlier reported a case of impersonation and nine cases of unfair means detected on April 1, the first day of JEE Main 2024, Session 2.
AI technology called iFace was deployed to monitor any possible malpractice in the entrance exam. Through this tool, the photo on the admit card is cross-verified with a live photograph taken at the exam centre.
JEE Main exam was held in two sessions this year — on January 28, 29, 30, 31 and February 1, and then from April 4 to 9.
