Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation organised a community lunch for sanitation workers at Bharatpur, near Badagada Crematorium and Line Kalyan Mandap under its three administration zones on the occasion of Utkal Divas.
In the first-of-its-kind programme by BMC authorities, families of ‘Safai Karmacharis’ were also invited.
“The programme has been organised to motivate and honour those who work tirelessly and passionately to keep the city clean and green. We gave them appreciation certificates to boost the morale,” said BMC Deputy Commissioner (Sanitation), Suvendu Kumar Sahoo.

Pushpanjali Palei (Swachha Sathi)
Priyanka Das (Swachhata Supervisor) from South-East Zone

Roji Barad (Swachhata Supervisor) from North Zone
Others present on the occasion are City Health Officer, Basanta Kumar Mishra; City Engineer, Deb Sundar Mohapatra; Deputy Commissioner (Grievance), Gayatri Samantray and Zonal Deputy Commissioners of three zones of BMC.
