Bhubaneswar: The Railways has decided to restore the services of Puri-Haridwar-Puri Kalinga Utkal Express from Puri on August 22 and from Haridwar on August 25, respectively.
On Sunday, three trains were cancelled and six others diverted following the derailment of Utkal Express at Khatauli near Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh on August 19, in which 22 passengers were killed and nearly 150 injured.
The services of Utkal Express too was cancelled for one day each from Puri and Haridwar. It will now run as per its timings and stoppages, said sources in East Coast Railway (ECoR).
Meanwhile, the level crossing gate connecting Jobra with Sikharpur will be closed for five days from August 23 for safety during the modernisation work at Cuttack Railway Station, the sources added.
