Bhubaneswar: The office and press of the Utkal University will remain closed on Saturdays in September.
In a notification, the Registrar of the University said that pursuant to the order of the General Administration and Public Grievance department on August 31 and subsequent orders by the vice-chancellor on September 4, the university office, PG Central office, all PG teaching departments, University Law College, Vani Vihar, M.S. Law College in Cuttack, Utkal University Press and the Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE) will remain closed on Saturday.
However, the officials and employees engaged in essential services such as electricity and water supply will be available for urgent duty.
The notification also said all the staff must be available in the headquarters for urgent duty if need be and will report to duty in case of exigencies.
