Utkal University In Bhubaneswar To Host Inter-Varsity Sports Meet-2024 From Feb 15

Bhubaneswar: The Utkal University in Bhubaneswar will host the Inter-University Sports Meet-2024 from February 15.

A preparatory meeting for the sports competition, chaired by the university’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Sabita Acharya, was held on Tuesday. Registrar Kanhucharan Dhir and Controller of Education Gautam Pradhan presented a review of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming event.

It was revealed at the meeting that the Inter-University Sports competition will be held on the Utkal University premises from February 15 to 19. More than 1,000 students from 38 public and private universities including Central University of Odisha will participate in the competition.

The competition will feature javelin throw, discus throw, shot put, high jump and long jump, 100, 200, 400 and 1500 metre race, hurdles and relay races.

Two students from a university can participate in each event. They can be accompanied by their coaches and teachers. Cultural programmes will also be organised every evening during the sports meet.
