Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Utkal University are set to unfurl a giant Tricolour on Republic Day.
University sources said the flag measuring 30 feet in length and 20 feet in width will be permanently flown atop the 100-ft-high flagpole built recently.
The decision to unfurl the Tricolour on the campus was taken after a demand by the BJP’s student wing, Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
ABVP activists had staged a gherao of the vice-chancellor’s office in October last year to press for their demand.
