‘Uunchai’ Of Success: Odisha Choreographer Sunit Das Dances In Tune With Amitabh Bachchan

Bhubaneswar: Unknown to many people who have watched the movie ‘Uunchai’ (running in theatres), an Odisha lad is sharing screen space with none other than Amitabh Bachchan in the now famous song ‘Keti Ko’, which also features Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher.

This indeed marks the ‘Uunchai’ of success for Berhampur-born choreographer Sunit Kumar Das. He was just another face in the crowd as a member of Prince Dance Group in India’s Got Talent. But the Shakti Nagar boy was determined not to remain an anonymous face and targeted his gaze at Bollywood, finally getting a break in 2013.

Working his way up in TV serials, reality shows and commercial ads, Sunit is now an assistant choreographer and has had the opportunity of working with established names such as Remo D’Souza, Ahmed Khan and Farah Khan.

Mumbai has been his home since 2016 and with experience of working in blockbuster movies such as  Race 3, Dhadak, Genius, Baaghi 2, Fukrey Returns, Friday, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Thugs of Hindostan and now Uunchai, Sunit is all set to scale bigger heights.

Apna Moharana, under whom he trained as a young schoolboy at Rhythm Dance Academy must be a proud teacher today.
