V-P Radhakrishnan Arrives In Odisha For Netaji Jayanti Celebrations; Avoid These Routes In Bhubaneswar, Cuttack



Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has issued an advisory, anticipating traffic congestion during the visit of Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan to Cuttack.

Traffic movement is expected to be affected from 8 am to 9.30 am and again from 12 noon to 2.15 pm, particularly along Airport Square – Hospital Square – AG Square (Left Turn) – Lok Bhawan Square (Right Turn) – Power House Square – 120 Battalion Square – Sastri Nagar Square – Behera Sahi Square – Jayadev Vihar Square (Left Turn) – Nayapalli Underpass (U-Turn) – Jayadev Vihar Flyover – Satsang Vihar – VSS Nagar – Palasuni Square – Hi-Tech Square – NH-16 up to Sikharpur Square – Kaliabuda VUP – Jobra Chhak – Matamath Chhak – Old Law University Hostel Chhak – Grinar Hotel Chhak – Madhusudan Statue Chhak – OPA Chhak – Samaj Office – Buxibazar Chhak – Barapatahra Chhak – Tinikonia Bagicha Chhak – Jail Road Chhak.

Temporary traffic diversions have been implemented along these routes.

 The entry

of heavy vehicles, tractors, and AMA buses are strictly prohibited on Cuttack Mahanadi Ring Road,  from Sikharpur Chhak to Chahata Chhak and all connecting lanes, from 7 am till the conclusion of the programme.

 Heavy vehicles on NH-16 will be diverted during the movement of the Vice-President.

The Commissionerate Police has urged all commuters and residents to avoid these routes and cooperate with traffic personnel and follow all instructions for smooth traffic regulation.

Parakram Diwas celebrations

On his maiden visit to Odisha, Radhakrishnan will attend the Parakram Diwas celebrations organised by the Ministry of Culture in Cuttack, to commemorate the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Majhi received the V-P at the airport here this morning. He was also accorded a Guard of Honour upon his arrival. Following which, he headed straight to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Museum in Cuttack.

Radhakrishnan will inaugurate INA postal stamp gallery, Netaji Sanskruti Bhawan and an exhibition on the freedom fighter. He is also expected to address the gathering at around 11.30 am. Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Culture minister Suryabanshi Suraj are also scheduled to attend the programme in which the INA freedom fighters and their family members will be honoured.
