San Francisco: Tech giants Facebook and Google have made it mandatory for all employees to get COVID-19 vaccines before returning to their workspaces later this year.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai has reportedly instructed in a memo, “anyone coming to work on our campuses will need to be vaccinated. We’re rolling this policy out in the U.S. in the coming weeks and will expand to other regions in the coming months.”
He also pointed out the importance of getting vaccinated.
At the same time, Google has extended its work-from-home policy for all its employees globally. It is expected to reopen offices around September and will notify employees 30 days before that.
Facebook too has made vaccination mandatory for its US offices.
Apple also has extended the work-from-home policy till October 2021. Uber, Microsoft and other tech companies are also hoping to reopen their offices in US later this year.
