Ranchi: A 74-year-old man died on Sunday, a day after being administered the COVID-19 vaccine.
Authorities in Jharkhand are waiting for the autopsy report.
Chandradeep Singh of Kandra village received the first dose of Covishield on March 20. He was diabetic, but his family claims it was under control.
As Chandradeep complained of fever, he was taken to the vaccination camp where he was told it was normal.
Around 4.30 pm on Sunday, he felt restless and was taken to a hospital in Jamshedpur where he died.
His family members claimed he was fine before taking the shot and have registered a case of unnatural death.
This is the third such death in the last 10 days. On March 19, a 65-year-old man fell unconscious after taking Covishield vaccine and died on the way to a hospital in Ranchi.
On March 15, a 72-year-old man had complained of chest pain within a few hours of being vaccinated, and died later in the day.
Authorities are waiting for the autopsy result to find out what happened. One medical expert pointed out that generally villagers are not aware of what co-morbidities they have.
