New Delhi: India crossed a significant milestone in its fight against COVID-19 on Friday by recording more than 1 crore vaccine doses being administered to healthcare and frontline workers.
India took 34 days to achieve the landmark feat, the second fastest in the world. USA took 31 days to cross of 1 crore vaccinations.
Till 8 am on February 19, a total of 1,01,88,007 vaccine doses have been administered through 2,11,462 sessions, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed in a release.
These include 62,60,242 HCWs (1st dose), 6,10,899 HCWs (2nd dose) and 33,16,866 FLWs (1stdose).
As for Odisha, the state recorded a total of 4,82,613 vaccinations till Friday. These included, 4,29,212 first doses and 53,401 second doses.
The 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccination started on February 13 for those beneficiaries who have completed 28 days after receipt of the 1st dose. Vaccination of the FLWs started on February 2.
