Puri: Minister of Railways, Communications and Information and Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday reviewed the progress of redevelopment of Puri railway station in Odisha.
During his visit to the project site, the minister said the design of the new railway station has been prepared with inspiration from Jagannath temple and the works were going on at full speed.
He emphasised that the digital twin of the building has been developed with all physical parts to help in operating and maintaining the station. The new station building will be ready for the devotees with all modern facilities soon, he added.
He further said this year also many passenger amenities will be provided at the station during Rath Yatra for the benefit of lakhs of passengers coming to participate in the annual festival in the Pilgrim Town.
Manoj Sharma, general manager, East Coast Railway and HS Bajwa, divisional railway manager, Khurda Road along with senior Railway officials were present during Vaishnaw’s visit.
