Bolangir: The Odisha government has accorded university status to Rajendra Autonomous College in Balangir district. Colleges in Balangir and Nuapada districts will be affiliated to the new university.
A notification of the Higher Education Department on Saturday said the government has altered the territorial jurisdiction of the Sambalpur University by establishing a new university, Rajendra University at Balangir, effective from the date of publication of the notification.
Established in 1944, the autonomous institution has been accredited by NAAC as B++.
