New Delhi: Ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, AICC president Rahul Gandhi on Friday formed screening committees for five states, including Odisha.
The screening committee comprises a chairman and two other party leaders as members.
For Odisha, VD Satheesan will lead the screening committee with Jitin Prasada and Naushad Solanki as members.
Satheesan is currently a member of Kerala Legislative Assembly from Parur constituency of Ernakulam district in Kerala and one of the six vice presidents of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).
Of the two other members of the committee, Jitin Prasada is a senior Congress leader of Uttar Pradesh and former Union minister of state for Human Resource while Naushad Solanki is the MLA of Dasada constituency in Gujarat and the chairman of the Scheduled Caste department of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC).
