Vedanta Aluminium Expands Free Mobile Healthcare Services In Odisha’s Sundargarh

Jharsuguda: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has extended its Mobile Health Vehicle (MHV) services to more locations in Odisha’s Sundargarh district to help make quality healthcare services accessible in under-served areas of the state.

Vedanta’s MHV services consist of teams of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and expert medical technicians, and are inclusive of preliminary medical consultations, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, basic check-ups and essential medicines for common ailments, all of which are provided completely free of cost.

The additional villages covered in Sundargarh are Jamkhani, Girisima, Jharpalam, Ghogarpalli, Bhograkachar, Latapani, Rengalpani, Garjanjore, Mendra, Munderkhet, Bilaimunda Market and Luabahal.

The MHV initiative will benefit over 18,000 people every year by providing doorstep access to primary healthcare consultations and medicines.

“Ensuring the total wellbeing of our local communities is a core facet of Vedanta Aluminium’s developmental interventions in Odisha. We strive to promote improved health and hygiene practices within the regions where we operate. Our multi-pronged initiatives are aimed at bridging the healthcare gap in rural communities and ensuring a better quality of life overall,” said V Srikanth, CEO – Mines, Vedanta Aluminium.

Vedanta Aluminium also conducts regular health camps in the region, where residents of nearby villages and other areas in their vicinity can avail of basic services and consultation from qualified medical professionals.

The company also conducts cancer screening camps, health awareness sessions on common ailments, menstrual hygiene awareness sessions, mega health camps in partnership with government and other stakeholders, etc. for the wellbeing of local communities.
