Kalahandi: Over 2500 women across six gram panchayats participated in a two-day programme to mark Women’s Day. It was organised by Vedanta Lanjigarh unit, under the theme of ‘Each for Equal’.
A plethora of events and activities were held with the aim to engage the womenfolk of the community. The areas covered included Champadeipur, Baterlima, Basantpada, Lanjigarh, Jagannathpur and Chhatrapur Gram Panchayats.
The women and SHG members were awarded for their proficiency and excellence. Several female staff working under government schemes such as Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) & National Health Mission in the villages based on the recommendation by competent authorities of Govt. of Odisha were also acknowledged and felicitated.
