Berhampur: Excise personnel seized 101 gm of brown sugar, 100 gm of opium and a huge amount of cannabis during a raid on a vegetable seller at Bhaliagada under Golanthara police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam districts.
The 40-year-old vegetable seller, identified as Bhaskar Dora, was later arrested on charges of possessing contraband worth over Rs 13 lakh. “We suspect that he procured the narcotic substances from the drug peddlers and sold them in the retail market in the guise of selling vegetables,” deputy excise commissioner A K Satapathy told PTI.
