Vehicle owners’ association block NH seeking toll tax reduction

Keonjhar: Members of four-wheeler vehicle owners’ association staged a blockade near Hasanpur toll plaza on National Highway-20 at Anandpur in Keonjhar district on Sunday, demanding reduction in toll tax.

Commuters had a harrowing time as hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on the highway for hours due to the blockade.

“The district administration should take immediate steps to reduce the toll tax, which is being collected here, to ease burden on commuters”, an agitator said.

The road block was lifted after senior officials from Ramachandrapur police station reached the spot and assured the protestors that their demands will be looked into.
