Jharsuguda: Stones were allegedly hurled at a vehicle parked at the residence of BJP state secretary Tankadhar Tripathy in the western Odisha town of Jharsuguda on Thursday night.
The front glass of the vehicle was broken in the incident.
Addressing a presser, Tripathy, who lost Jharsuguda assembly bypoll to BJD’s Dipali Das by over 48,000 votes last year, said that police have identified the culprit after examining the CCTV footage. “I am told that the culprits are linked to family members of the leaders of the ruling BJD party here,” he alleged.
Notably, the saffron party has been raising the issue of deterioration of law and order situation in the state following the daylight murder of the then Health Minister Naba Das at Gandhi Chhak in Brajarajnagar town of Jharsuguda.
The BJD is yet to issue a statement on the allegation.
