Bhubaneswar: Sky gazers will be able to witness a rare celestial event on Tuesday as the Moon and Venus will share the same ascension. The moon will be passing 2° to the north of Venus on Tuesday.
Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar has made special arrangements to enable people to watch the rare event tomorrow.
Planetarium Deputy Director Subhendu Patnaik said the bright Venus will be visible to the naked eye till June 15. People will be able to witness this phenomenon for a period of two hours from 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm, provided the sky is clear.
Special arrangements have been made at the Planetarium tomorrow so that people can get a closer look at Venus and the moon through its equipment. Visitors can access the planetarium from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on May 23 for the purpose.
However, the event will be cancelled if there are overcast conditions and the sky remains cloudy, sources said.
