Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a heavy rainfall warning for several districts of Odisha with the intensity of downpours likely to increase from October 2 to October 5.
According to the midday bulletin, heavy rainfall is likely in some places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts on October 1 and in Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. the following day.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is likely in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, and Kandhamal on October 3 while Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Boudh, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Kendrapada, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Balasore may experience heavy showers (7 to 11 cm) during this period.
In the subsequent 24 hours, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal may witness extreme spells of rain with heavy rainfall at some places in Ganjam, Boudh, Balangir, Nayagarh, Puri, Rayagada, Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Balasore districts.
