Puri: A vessel carrying a bus and over 60 passengers got stranded in Chilika lake near Satapada in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday due to ‘technical glitches.’
As per preliminary information, the huge vessel was on its way from Satapada to Janhikuda when it got stuck in the middle of the lake following some technical snag.
Besides a bus and over 50 passengers, the boat was reportedly carrying some four-wheelers, ten bikes
Sources said the large vessel has been stuck for around two hours after it set out from Satapada at about 2 pm.
On being informed about the incident, the authorities concerned have initiated necessary steps to rescue the stranded passengers. Steps are also being taken for sending a technical team for necessary assistance in bringing the vessel back, the sources added.
