Veteran Actor Sudesh Kumar Passes Away At 95, Leaves Behind A Rich Cinematic Legacy



Mumbai: Veteran actor Sudesh Kumar passed away at the age of 95 after suffering a stroke, marking the end of an era in Indian cinema.

Fans and members of the film fraternity mourned the loss of a seasoned performer known for some memorable roles.

The veteran was rushed to the Breach Candy Hospital on April 20 following a brain stroke. After receiving treatment, he was brought back home last week, where an ICU setup was arranged for him. He breathed his last on May 1.

A prayer meet for Sudesh will be held on May 4 at FPH Banquets Hall.

Born on March 17, 1931, Sudesh celebrated his 95th birthday a month-and-a-half ago.

Sudesh began his journey with Prithviraj Kapoor’s renowned theatre group. The actor rose to prominence with the romantic tragedy ‘Saranga’, in which he played the lead role.

Over the years, he appeared in several films and became a familiar face in Indian cinema.
