Jaipur: Veteran Gandhian SN Subbarao died here at around 7 am on Wednesday. He was 93.
A few days ago, Subbarao was admitted to Sawaiman Singh Hospital, but his health deteriorated last night. On knowing this, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot visited the hospital and enquired about his health, reported news agency UNI.
Famous for his Shramdan, the Gandhian leader had a lot of attachment to Rajasthan. Only at the behest of Chief Minister Gehlot, Subbarao had come to Rajasthan for treatment.
Since then, the Gandhian thinker originally from Karnataka had been living here.
He was the founder of the Chambal Shanti mission and inspired several bandits to lay down their arms.
