Bhubaneswar: Veteran journalist Chandrabhanu Patnaik breathed his last on Wednesday evening. He was suffering from prolonged illness. He was 60.
A Post Graduate in English literature and a product of the erstwhile Ravenshaw College, Chandrabhanu had a knack for news.
He started his journalism career in the 1980s with Pragativadi. After a brief stint with the newspaper, he took up teaching and joined Ekamra College, Bhubaneswar, as lecturer in English. He then quit his job and returned to journalism with Sambad, where he rose to the posts
Chandrabhanu had also worked with Samaja, Samaya and STV. He was also the founder of Odia magazine Satabdi.
He was known for his in-depth news reports and political analysis. He was among the senior most political journalists of Odisha.
A native of Channagiri in Khurda district, Chandrabhanu is survived by wife Pushparani and son Chitrabhanu.
