Veteran Odisha-Based Journalist D Shankar Rao Dies Of COVID

Koraput: A Koraput-based veteran journalist, D Shankar Rao, succumbed to COVID-19 on Saturday morning. He was 76.

According to reports, Rao was undergoing treatment at Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput after testing COVID positive.

He had been working as a journalist with Telugu newspaper Sakshi after his retirement from the Revenue Department.

Rao was a founding member of the Koraput Press Club and also ran a typewriting training institute in the district.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters.
