Bhubaneswar: Veteran Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after his health condition deteriorated.
As per sources, the actor has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ISU) of a private hospital following deterioration in his health condition.
Uttam Mohanty had moved outside for shooting of a film that will feature him alongside his actor wife Aparajita and son Babusan. During his stay, health conditions suddenly worsened following which he was rushed to Bhubaneswar for treatment. Reports indicate that he was admitted due to an immediate need for medical attention.
While the exact nature of his illness is yet to be disclosed, sources indicate that Mohanty has been battling health issues for some time now. His condition is stated to be stable.
Soon after news of his hospitalisation spread, fans, admirers and well-wishers expressed their support on social media platforms. The actor’s family has requested privacy during this challenging time.
A versatile actor, Mohanty appeared in over 150 films. He has been a prominent figure in the Odia film industry. His contributions have earned him several accolades and a lasting legacy in Indian cinema.
Born and brought up in Baripada, Mohanty had made a foray into acting during his college days. He has appeared in more than 135 Odia films and 30 Bengali movies. He has also acted in a Hindi film Naya Zaher.
