Bhubaneswar: Veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader from Odisha, Harihar Nanda, passed away at a private hospital in the wee hours of Monday. He was 85.
Nanda was the first Pracharak of Odisha region (pranta) and had a major contribution towards setting up an RSS base in the state.
Several RSS and BJP leaders rushed to the Utkala Bipanna Sahayata Samiti office to catch a last glimpse of the departed leader.
Nanda’s body will be taken to his residence in the city and from there to Swargadwara in Puri for cremation in the afternoon.
