Bhubaneswar: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu will dedicate an LPG bottling plant at Barkani village in Balangir district to the nation on December 27.
Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas & Steel Dharmendra Pradhan had laid the foundation stone of the plant on May 21, 2018, and it was completed in a record 19 months. The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has set up the plant spread over 23 acres with a total investment of Rs 103 crore. It will have the capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year and these will be supplied to Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Raygada and Nuapada, an official said.
Besides Dharmendra, Governor Ganeshi Lal, Governor, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Member of Legislative Assembly Narasingha Mishra will be present on the occasion.
