Bhubaneswar: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu is scheduled to attend the first convocation ceremony of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, on August 16.
A coordination meeting ahead of the Vice President’s visit was held under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Asit Tripathy at the State Secretariat here on Saturday.
“As per schedule, after arriving at Biju Patnaik International Airport on August 16, the Vice President will be given a guard of honour. He will then head straight towards AIIMS campus by road amid tight security,” the Home Secretary informed after the meeting.
The Vice President is visiting Odisha specifically to attend the convocation, he added.
The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner YB Khurania, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo and other senior officials of the state government.
