Nayagarh: A nurse of Nayagarh government hospital is in the dock for allegedly asking Rs 200 bribe from a patient to remove her stitches.
The woman’s husband shot a video of his conversation with the nurse while she was demanding the money and circulated it on social media.
According to sources, Kameswar Achari, a native of Solapat village under Sarankul police limits, had admitted his pregnant wife to the hospital. She was discharged after a surgery and returned to remove stitches after some days. A nurse on duty at the hospital asked her to pay Rs 200.
After the video went viral, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) said that action would be initiated against the nurse after a probe into the matter.
