Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Friday caught a junior manager of Nesco red-handed while accepting bribe from a complainant in Mayurbhanj district.
Sisir Kumar Nayak of Janakpur village under Kaptipada police station of Mayurbhanj district, who was working as private driver in Kaptipada Section of Nesco, had complained to the Vigilance officials about the bribe demand of the manager. He had stated that Aswini Kumar Das Adhikari, junior manager, Nesco Utilities, Kaptipada Section, was demanding a bribe of Rs 1300 for signing the hire charge bill of his vehicle for October.
The Vigilance officials laid a trap and nabbed the junior manager while receiving the tainted bribe money in his office chamber. The money was recovered and seized on production by the accused. A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is on.
