Cuttack: Vigilance sleuths have unearthed properties worth more than Rs 2 crore in possession of a lecturer in Government Polytechnic School, Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district following simultaneous raids at different places.
A team of Rourkela Vigilance Division carried out the raids on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income of the lecturer Surya Narayan Ray in Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Kendrapada and Sundargarh on Tuesday.
During the search, 3 double-storey buildings, one RCC roof building and 8 plots in Jharsuguda town, one four-wheeler, a two-wheeler, bank and postal deposits worth over Rs 30 lakh, insurance deposits worth over 41 lakh, cash and other movable and immovable properties, totalling over Rs 2.45 crore were unearthed.
Further searches and investigation were going on, according to Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack.
