Vigilance Apprehends Police ASI While Taking Rs 10,000 Bribe In Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Vigilance apprehended an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Saturday.

Following complaint that Manas Kumar Parida, ASI, Bonth police station in the district was demanding Rs 10,000 as bribe through a private person Amareswar Nayak to help the complainant and his mother in a land dispute case registered earlier, the Vigilance set a trap.

As per the trap, the complainant went to give the money to Parida through Nayak. The Vigilance sleuths nabbed the ASI red handed while accepting the bribe. The entire amount was recovered from his possession and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Parida from DA angle.

Balasore Vigilance has registered a case in this connection under PC Amendment Act, 2018 and further investigation is in progress against Parida and Nayak.
