Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested an additional chief engineer and an additional director in two separate disproportionate assets cases.
Kandarpa Pradhan, additional chief engineer, Minor Irrigation Circle, KBK, Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district was arrested by the Vigilance and forwarded to the court for possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 75% of known sources of income.
During search in the properties of Pradhan at 8 places in Khurda, Angul and Kalahandi districts, the Vigilance had found him in possession of 3 flats in Bhubaneswar, 2 buildings in Angul, 5 plots in and around Angul town, 2 four-wheelers, 1 two-wheeler and gold jewellery 530 gm.
In the other case, Umesh Chandra Jena, additional director, Directorate of Mines, Bhubaneswar was arrested and forwarded to the court for possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 368% of known sources of income.
During search in properties of Jena at 13 places in Khurda and Keonjhar districts, the Vigilance had found him in possession of one multi-storey building in Bhubaneswar and three at Keonjhar, 5 plots in Keonjhar, 2 four-wheelers, 2 two-wheelers, gold jewellery 650 gms and Rs 1.64 crore in cash.
