Nuapada: The vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 4, 000.
The accused, Prabhat Kumar Panda, was posted at Bheden police station in Nuapada district and was demanding bribe from one Jagadish Ada of Pirmal village in the district to release him and another accused on bail, in connection with a case.
Panda’s government quarter located inside the premises of Khariar police station was searched and several documents were seized.
