Vigilance arrests lady GRS for accepting Rs 1500 bribe

Ganjam: Vigilance sleuths arrested a lady Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) of Gochha panchayat under Sorada block in Ganjam district 

class=”aBn” tabindex=”0″ data-term=”goog_1954926614″>on Wednesday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe.

According to vigilance sources, the GRS identified as Sonali Kumari had an amount of Rs 1,500 from one Bidesi Nayak, a resident of Jatrama village in the district, to sanction funds under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY). She even pressurised the victim many times to pay the money.

Basing on a complaint lodged by Nayak, a team of anti-corruption officials laid a trap and caught the accused raid handed while accepting the bribe amount from the victim in his house.

Further investigation into the matter is on.
