Sundargarh: Vigilance on Sunday arrested Banamali Naik, inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum-Secretary, Regulated Market Committee (RMC), Sargipali in the district for possession of disproportionate assets.

On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Naik, Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous house searches on his properties at 5 places in the dist


rict on Saturday. During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 2.71 crore were unearthed in the name of Naik:

After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, Naik was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune
of 172% of his known sources of income. Rourkela Vigilance has registered a case in this connection and Naik has been forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Sundargarh.
