Bhawanipatna: Vigilance sleuths arrested a revenue inspector (RI) of Kalahandi district on corruption charge on Friday.
The Vigilance officials made the arrest on the basis of a complaint of Biranchi Choudhury of Karlamunda under M Rampur in the district. Choudhury had complained that Ramesh Chandra Barad, RI of Karlamunda tehsil demanded Rs 2,000 as gratification to demarcate the land at Dukermal mouza under Karlamunda tehsil in his name.
The Vigilance sleuths caught Barad accepting the money from Choudhury red-handed. The entire bribe money was seized from Barad.
Koraput Vigilance has registered a case this connection and further investigation into the matter is on.
