Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended an Amin of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in Odisha capital while accepting a brine of Rs 20,000.
Following a complaint that Sarbeswar Mohanty, Amin, BDA was demanding the bribe for furnishing a favorable report to facilitate the sale of the complainant’s house, which was approved by BDA, the Vigilance set up a trap.
As per the plan, the complainant went to give the bribe and the Vigilance sleuths nabbed Mohanty while accepting it. They recovered the entire bribe money from his possession and seized it.
Following the trap, the Vigilance conducted simultaneous searches on at two locations of Mohanty’s properties from DA angle.
Bhubaneswar Vigilance has registered a case in this connection under PC (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation is in progress against Mohanty.
