Nabarangpur: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Jharigaon block, Nabarangpur district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 27,000.
Vigilance officials said that arrested CDPO Sushama Prasad had demanded the money from an anganwadi worker from funds allotted for supply of dresses for children in anganwadi centres. The government has allotted Rs 2.11 lakh for the supply of dresses for children at anganwadi centres this year.
The Vigilance laid a trap following a complaint by the anganwadi worker. After her arrest, Vigilance teams launched raids on her properties in Nabarangpur and Bhawanipatna.
